Pro-Start® Starter Strip Shingles from GAF provide a strong, properly sealed starting point for your roofing system along the eaves and rakes — areas especially vulnerable to wind uplift.
Factory-applied adhesive is positioned to help secure the first course of shingles and reduce the risk of wind getting underneath the roof covering. Pre-cut starter strips also provide a clean, consistent installation without the need to cut standard shingles for use as starters.
Highlights:
- Helps resist shingle blow-off at eaves and rakes
- Factory-applied adhesive for proper positioning
- Provides a secure foundation for the first course of shingles
- Pre-cut for consistent installation
- Eliminates the need to cut standard shingles for starter strips
- Designed to integrate with compatible GAF roofing systems
- Helps support applicable GAF roofing system warranty requirements*
A properly installed roof starts at the edges — Pro-Start® helps provide secure protection where your shingle system begins.
Installation requirements and warranty eligibility depend on the complete roofing system and applicable GAF specifications. GAF warranty terms, limitations, and exclusions apply.
